Memory in the sun

I posted the very first web order today. Stood in line, at the appropriate distance, cradling a package that had so much love inside.

As I stood waiting to enter the post office, I kept thinking two thoughts.

1 ~ I need to find some better packaging

and

2 ~ how amazing it is that I (with the solid help of a very patient husband and some truly amazing friends who we'll get to in a minute) have brought to life a beautiful little business that is now self sufficient AND has it's very own little life on the interweb!

Whilst queuing, my eyes glazed and I imagined those wavy lines as reality fazes out and a memory begins...

I could see myself complaining about lip balm in plastic tubes. Getting fired up after being challenged to do better. The first batch of lip balm that was great, but needed some minor tweaking. The first stall. The amazing comments I got from customers. And feeling like this might actually go somewhere.

“Excuse me ma'am, could you move forward please?” The fella behind me jolted me back to reality. I giggle out loud and apologised.

But I am now so grateful. That brief moment of reflection in the sun gave me the time to really realise I could not have done this without the support of the for-mentioned folk.

I won't bore you with their names, height, eye colour and so on – but I will say that From Bee to You Balms would not be the same with out them.

Here's to the bumble, the honey, the worker and queen.
